26 Oct 5G network – technology of the future
The world’s largest companies engaged in the development and production of mobile devices are working intensively on the development of a new generation of wireless networks, that is, the 5G network, the successor to the 4G network, which should be up to 10 times faster than all its predecessors.
The first tests on this network showed that 5G can reach 10Gbps. Based on the average speed of today’s mobile networks, which is 12.3 Mbps, it is clear how much 5G technology is more advanced than all previous technologies and networks.
The new 5G technology will be able to work with 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi networks, which means that we can adapt the devices we already own to the new technology. Companies have announced that it will still be necessary to change the mobile device to use this technology.
What is 5G technology bringing us?
This network will be so strong that it will allow the film to be removed for as long as three seconds. Then, with this network you can connect your devices, or all the appliances you have in your home. Also, this network will be beneficial for certain activities such as medicine, as it will allow doctors to cite one another during remote surgical procedures.
This technology will be so advanced that it will even make it possible for a band in its full composition, although located in physically remote locations, to create real-time music.
This ultra-fast connection functions according to the principle of reducing the time between issuing a command and a response that is given by the network, ie in this way the current interaction will be enabled and the problem of “cracking” and termination of the connection will be eliminated.
In order to test and demonstrate the capabilities of this technology, a wireless communications professor at a London university conducted a live concert with his daughter using a 5G video link. She sang in London, and he played the piano in Berlin, and together they performed a concert thanks to this technology with which it was delayed only 20 milliseconds.
Virtual reality and 5G
Also, scientists claim that the 5G network will contribute to the development and use of VRs that will be used in different sectors. Due to the link speed and video quality, 5G will be the springboard of the VR. Thus, the VR with the 5G network will be used for trainings and simulations in sectors such as engineering and health. Also, this technology will enable people to work together through virtual conferences, and create a virtual audience for certain “live” events.
Hologram development with 5G
Scientists announce that this technology will go a step further, and will enable the design of holograms from our smartphones. It is highly likely that this will all be possible in the next 5 years thanks to the arrival of the 5G mobile network that brings the transfer of a larger amount of data with much faster speeds.
The American and Korean telecoms even tested this thesis, and they made the world’s first hologram international conversation through test 5G networks. Thus, the person with whom they spoke saw in the room through her holographic display. In all likelihood, this will not stop just on the experiment, but a very interesting future awaits us with the development of holograms and other technological achievements.
Also, one of the advantages of this technology is the interactive live broadcast without interruption. Cameras with 5G network will be able to send their recordings directly to the interpreter, which will reduce costs and simplify live TV broadcasts.
Limitations and risks of the 5G networkLED lighting
While 5G technology will bring numerous benefits, experts predict certain limitations in terms of the growth of this network for final users. Here, it is primarily thought of the fact that many people will not be able to buy the first phones that are adapted to this network or the accompanying equipment for the search for VR, such as VR glasses.
It is also thought that large investments in towers and antennas will be necessary for the needs of establishing this network, and will be first placed in urban areas, which could lead to the deepening of the digital gap between urban and rural areas.
It is predicted that the 5G network will appear in a certain form already in 2019, while in its full form and with all 5G services it will appear only in 2021.
